A website announced the TV anime adaptation of Kogitsune Kanekiru's Re:Monster light novel series. The site revealed a teaser video, visual, and the voice actor for the protagonist, Gob-Rou, voiced by Takuya Satō.

Originally posted on Shōsetsu ni Narō, Kanekiru's story first published by AlphaPolis in 2012, with the ninth volume in 2017, featuring illustrations by Yamaada. Kobayakawa serializes a monthly manga adaptation on AlphaPolis' website, with the 10th compiled volume out soon.

Seven Seas publishes the manga adaptation and will release the seventh volume in English on October 31. The manga follows Tomokui Kanata, reborn as a goblin with the name "Rou," who uses his new abilities and old memories to navigate a world where consuming other creatures grants him their powers.

The series inspired a smartphone game of the same name, launched on Android and iOS in February 2016.
