A fresh trailer has dropped for the upcoming anime adaptation of "The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You," set to premiere in Japan on October 8. This trailer treats fans to a sneak peek of the opening theme song, "Daidaidaidaidaisuki na Kimi e ♡," charmingly performed by the main heroines' voice actors.
"The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You" is based on the romantic comedy manga, originally written by Rikito Nakamura and illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa, published by Shueisha. Seven Seas Entertainment provides the following plot summary:
"Aijo Rentaro has asked a hundred girls out and struck out every time. In desperation, he prays for guidance, only to be told by a god that his rejections were due to a cosmic mishap! Now this god will set things right by making sure Aijo gets one hundred dates. Except, as things often go with gods, there’s a catch: each of his one hundred dates is Aijo’s destined soulmate! Worse, if he doesn’t return their feelings, they’ll all die in horrible—and hilarious—accidents!"
The anime adaptation is produced by Bibury Animation Studios, with Hikaru Satou (co-director of "Dropkick on My Devil X" and director of "Dropkick on My Devil") at the helm. Takashi Aoshima (known for "Beast Tamer") serves as the series composer, and Akane Yano (from "The Ryuo’s Work Is Never Done") takes on the role of character designer. The talented voice cast includes:
• Wataru Katou as Rentaro Aijo
• Kaede Hondo as Hakari Hanazono
• Miyu Tomita as Karane Inda
• Maria Naganawa as Shizuka Yoshimoto
• Ayaka Asai as Kusuri Yakuzen
"The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You" manga began its serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2019 and boasts 14 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023.
