The official website of the Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) television anime unveiled two additional cast members on Saturday. The anime is set to air with a 2-hour special on September 29 at 9:00 p.m. on NTV's Friday Road Show programming block, followed by BS NTV and AT-X.

Keiichirou Saitou (Bocchi the Rock!) is directing the television anime at Madhouse. Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) is in charge of the series composition. Reiko Nagasawa is designing the characters, and Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) is composing the music.
The anime adapts Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's fantasy adventure manga, which began serializing in Shounen Sunday magazine in April 2020. Shogakukan shipped the 11th volume on September 15.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English in February 2021 and published the eighth volume on June 20. The ninth volume is scheduled to be released on October 17.
